Jaguar XJ8 (X308), error code E-01 on CD-player
Here is an easy way to solve the problem:
Error code E-01 indicates that the mechanism in the CD-cartridge is stuck and you can't take the CDs out.
The manual refers to Jaguar service but it is not necessary.
1) Start by pushing the CD-cartridge inwards, it is said that it can make the stuck eject mehanism release
(but it hasn't helped in my case).
2) Insert sometning flat and release the stuck eject mechanism. Be as careful as possible.
3) Take out the CD-cartridge.
4) Remove the CDs from the CD-cartridge.
5) Put the empty CD-cartridge back.
6) On the display is now shown how the CD-cartridge is checking the empty CD-stations:
"Disc 01 check", "Disc 01 no disc", "Disc 02 check", and so on until it has checked all six stations.
Repeat point 5 and 6 a few times (the repeating might spare you point 8).
7) Put back the CDs in the CD-cartridge and insert it as usual, now it is working.
8) NOTE It might happen that the mechanism in the CD-cartridge gets stuck immediately (E-01 again) but then
you just have to repeat this procedure until the CD-cartridge works.
